Police Commissioner S.V. Rajashekar Babu reviewed security for Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to Pandit Nehru Bus Station (PNBS) here on August 15. The Chief Minister will launch ‘Free Bus Service for Women’ in the State, at PNBS on Independence Day.
Mr. Rajashekar Babu, along with the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) officials went around the bus station and enquired about the security arrangements.
He directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police S.V.D. Prasad and South Zone ACP, D. Paavan Kumar, to take all measures for the peaceful conduct of the programme.
Mr. Rajashekar Babu verified the platforms and the bus station premises and the venue for the launch of the scheme.
Earlier, the Police Commissioner visited Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation (IGMC) Stadium, where the Independence Day celebrations will be organised in Vijayawada.
He instructed the police officers to arrange parking places for VIPs, galleries for students and the general public, and provide bandobust at the IGMC for the I-Day celebrations.
Police and the APSP Battalions conducted rehearsals for the Independence Day celebrations in the parade ground.
