Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Savita Oil Technologies Ltd, a 1961-born specialty petroleum player that controls one-third of India’s transformer and white oil market. Q3 FY26 numbers just dropped and PAT jumped 170% YoY to ₹40.9 crore on quarterly sales of ₹1,074 crore (+13.6% YoY).

Sounds explosive, right?

But then you look at ROE of 6.10% and ROCE of 9.84% and suddenly the excitement becomes… “hmm.”

This is a company with:

  • 550,000 KL/MT capacity
  • 53.80 MW wind power assets
  • 400 distributors
  • 20,000+ retailers
  • Clients like NTPC, BHEL, Tata Motors

Yet margins sit at 4–5%.

So what is this stock?

Segment revenue FY25:

  • Petroleum Specialty Oils – 71%
  • Lubricating Oils – 28%
  • Others – 1%

Geographically:

  • 82% Domestic
  • 18% Export

It’s one of the top two suppliers of white & mineral oils in India.

That’s serious positioning.

But here’s the twist — despite dominance, profitability hasn’t been royalty-like. Profit growth over 3 years? -26.7%. ROE over last year? 6%.

So question for you:
If you dominate the market but don’t dominate returns… are you truly winning?

3. Business Model – WTF Do They Even Do?

Let’s simplify.
