Prakash Pipes Q3 FY26: ₹181 Cr Sales, EPS ₹4.23, Stock Down 52% — Is This a Plastic Comeback or a Flexible Headache?

1. At a Glance – When Pipes Leak and Packaging Crinkles

Prakash Pipes Ltd is currently sitting at ₹204 with a market cap of ₹487 crore. The stock has fallen 52.6% in one year and 19.4% in the last three months. PE stands at 12.2 versus industry PE of 20.9. Price-to-book is just 1.09. ROCE is a solid 26.8%, ROE 20.5%, and debt-to-equity is barely 0.03.

Sounds impressive, right?

But wait. Q3 FY26 numbers tell a slightly different story. December 2025 quarter sales came in at ₹181 crore, down 5.9% YoY. Net profit collapsed 56.2% YoY to ₹10 crore. OPM shrank to 10% from 19% a year ago.

This is a company that makes PVC pipes for agriculture and construction… and flexible packaging for FMCG giants like Patanjali, Dabur, DS Group, and Haldiram. Yet the market is treating it like yesterday’s plastic bag.

Is the Street overreacting? Or is the pressure building inside the pipe?

Let’s dig.

2. Introduction – The Curious Case of a Dual Personality Business

Prakash Pipes was incorporated in 2017. Young company. Ambitious. Two manufacturing units in Kashipur, Uttarakhand. One foot in infrastructure. One foot in FMCG packaging.

It’s like someone decided, “Why choose between plumbing and chips packets? Let’s do both.”

Revenue mix FY24:

  • PVC Pipes & Fittings – 61%
  • Flexible Packaging – 39%

Geographically, it’s heavily North India focused:

  • UP & Uttarakhand – 54%
  • Delhi NCR – 28%
  • Haryana – 14%
  • Punjab & HP – 4%

This is not a pan-India giant. This is a regional warrior.

And here’s the irony: despite good 5-year profit CAGR of 27%, the stock has halved in one year.

So what changed? Margin pressure? Volume slowdown? Expansion hangover?

Or is this just a cyclical plastic tantrum?
