Market Cap: ₹720 Cr
Current Price: ₹28.4
Stock P/E: 35.8

Oswal Greentech just reported ₹8.58 Cr PAT in Q3 FY26 — that’s a 1,519% jump YoY. Sounds like a blockbuster? Wait till you see that operating profit is ₹3.55 Cr… and most earnings come from “other income.” ROE is 0.34%, yet the company trades at 35.8x earnings. Also, it’s trading at just 0.29x book value.
So is this a hidden deep-value opportunity? Or is this a company that forgot whether it’s a real estate developer or a corporate treasury department?
And why is a real estate company making most of its money from interest income?
Welcome to the Oswal Greentech puzzle.
2. Introduction – The Great Identity Crisis
Incorporated in 1981, Oswal Greentech was earlier known as Oswal Chemicals & Fertilisers. In May 2023, it changed its name and symbol to reflect its “Greentech” identity.
Greentech? Real estate? Investment company? Inter-corporate lender?
Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: It’s a real estate developer that earns most of its income from interest and investments.
FY23 revenue breakup tells the real story:
- Interest income (including tax refund interest): ~71%
- Interest on FDs: ~18%
- Real estate sales: ~3%
Segment revenue:
- Investment: 76%
- Real estate: 4%
- Unallocated: 20%
So basically, if you thought you were buying a property developer, congratulations — you bought a mini NBFC with a few flats on the side.
And yet the market values it at ₹720 Cr.
Is this financial engineering genius… or financial confusion?
