Following a mobile phone snatching case reported a few days ago, the Mahadevapura police on Tuesday arrested a 24-year-old man and recovered 80 mobile phones worth â¹20 lakh from him.
The accused, identified as Mohammed Hamid a resident of Hegde Nagar, allegedly used to move around the area targeting people with mobile phones.
The accused had snatched a mobile phone from Potharaj, a private firm employee, while he was returning to his paying guest facility from work.
Based on a complaint, the police tracked down the accused near Hoodi bus stop. Based on his confession, the police arrested two of his associates who were helping the accused to dispose of the stolen mobile phones.
