Cosmo First Q3 FY26: ₹899 Cr Revenue, ₹103 Cr EBITDA, ₹30 Cr PAT — Capex Hangover or Specialty Comeback Story?

1. At a Glance – The Film King with a Pet Obsession

Market Cap: ₹1,940 Cr
Current Price: ₹739
Stock P/E: 13.3
ROCE: 9.77%
ROE: 9.26%
Debt: ₹1,710 Cr
Q3 FY26 Revenue: ₹899 Cr (+28% YoY)
Q3 FY26 PAT: ₹30 Cr (Flat YoY)

Cosmo First just dropped Q3 FY26 numbers and they’re… interesting. Revenue is flexing at ₹899 crore with a solid 28% YoY growth, but PAT is chilling at ₹30 crore — almost unchanged from last year. EBITDA at ₹103 crore is up, but margins slipped to 11.5%.

The stock is down 27.6% in six months. Why? Because when you borrow ₹1,710 crore, the market expects fireworks, not just sparkles.

But here’s the twist:
They’ve finished ₹1,140 crore of capex. No big capex ahead. Focus now? Cash flow and debt reduction.

Translation: The construction phase is over. Now the sweating begins.

Question is — will this sweating produce ROCE or just sweat?

Let’s investigate.

2. Introduction – From BOPP Boss to Petcare Player

Cosmo First started in 1981 making BOPP films. Today, it calls itself a “specialty-focused conglomerate.”

In simple terms:
They make plastic films. Then they coat it. Then they label it. Then they laminate it.
And now… they groom your dog.

Yes. Welcome to capital allocation 2025.

Over the last three years, the company invested ₹1,140 crore in expanding films, chemicals, rigid packaging, and petcare (Zigly).

Their pitch is clear:

  • Films = Volume + Export
  • Specialty Chemicals = High ROCE
  • Rigid Packaging = Stable margins
  • Cosmo Consumer (Sunshield & PPF) = High growth
  • Zigly = Value unlocking story

But markets don’t care about PowerPoint dreams. They care about ROCE.

Current ROCE: 9.77%.
That’s not specialty. That’s stress-ty.

So is Cosmo in transition? Or in confusion?

Let’s decode.
