Alankit Ltd Q3 FY26: ₹71.7 Cr Revenue, ₹8.03 Cr PAT, EPS ₹0.28 — Tax Demand of ₹179 Cr Bombshell & 0.82x Book Value Discount Drama


1. At a Glance – The Government’s Middleman at 10x Earnings

₹252 crore market cap.
₹9.28 stock price.
Trading at 10.8x earnings and just 0.82x book value.

Q3 FY26 (Dec 2025) revenue came in at ₹71.7 crore, PAT at ₹8.03 crore, and EPS at ₹0.28. Profit grew nearly 47% YoY. But sales? Slightly negative.

Promoters hold 54.14%, zero pledge. Debt is almost a non-issue at ₹21.4 crore. Sounds stable? Wait.

There’s a ₹17,932.61 lakh (₹179.33 crore) tax demand disclosed in the latest results. Yes, you read that right. That number is almost 70% of market cap.

Return over 1 year? -44%.
Return over 3 months? -19.6%.
Investors clearly didn’t like the drama.

So is this a hidden turnaround in e-Governance and forex? Or a low-multiple value trap wearing a government badge?

2. Introduction – The Middleman of Modern India

Alankit Ltd was incorporated in 1989. That’s pre-Google, pre-UPI, pre-Aadhaar India.

Today, it positions itself as a RegTech + e-Governance + Financial Services + Forex hybrid. Basically, if the government wants to digitize something and needs someone to stand between them and 140 crore people, Alankit wants that job.

PAN services.
GST facilitation.
Aadhaar authentication.
National Insurance Repository.
Atal Pension Yojana facilitator.
Foreign currency exchange.

They are everywhere the bureaucracy needs a digital translator.

But here’s the twist — 58% of FY23 revenue came from foreign currency sales. Not pure RegTech. Not pure digital governance. Forex.

So are we buying a tech-enabled governance company? Or a forex counter with some government contracts on the side?

Interesting identity crisis, no?

And if they are so embedded in government processes, why is the stock trading below book value?
