Condemning the remarks of Pakistan Army chief Asim Munir, Hyderabad parliamentarian Asaduddin Owaisi demanded that the Union Government lodge a formal protest with the USA government.
The Pakistan Army Chief recently had issued a threat of a nuclear attack on India.
Mr Owaisi underscored that India was a strategic partner of the USA and the comments, that were made while Mr. Munir was in the U.S., were unacceptable. He stated that Pakistan’s intentions were clear, which should prompt India to modernise its armed forces. “The low budgetary allocation for defence by Modi government can’t continue any longer. We need to be better prepared,” he stated.
The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief stated that Pakistan needs a fitting political response from the Modi government, and that a Ministry of External Affairs statement was inadequate. “Government must lodge their protest and raise the issue with US strongly,” he emphasised.
