🌀 “Same Mutual Fund, Different NAV? Zerodha, Groww & AMFI Disagree Every Day”

Why Your Fund Value Depends on Which App You Open

At a Glance

You invest ₹10,000 in HDFC Midcap Fund. AMFI says NAV is ₹147.03. Zerodha shows ₹147.08. Groww says ₹146.99.
Wait — what?
It’s the same fund. Same day. Same damn basket of stocks. Why three different numbers?
Welcome to the world of stale APIs, timing gaps, and the illusion of financial precision.

🤳 The Setup: Retail Investor Be Like…

  • You log into Zerodha. See NAV: ₹147.08
  • Then check Groww. It’s ₹146.99
  • Then go to AMFI. ₹147.03

And you start wondering:

“Is Groww stealing from me? Should I switch to Zerodha? Is AMFI drunk?”

Relax. No one’s robbing you. You’re just witnessing India’s biggest fintech inconsistency loophole.

🧠 Why NAVs Don’t Match – The Real Reasons

🧾 1. Delayed API Sync

  • AMFI releases official NAVs between 9–10 PM every day
  • Mutual fund platforms pull that data via APIs — but:
    • Not every platform syncs at the same time
    • Some have caching issues
    • Others “predict” NAV based on closing prices pre-release

Result: NAV mismatch of ₹0.05–₹0.20 is common

⏰ 2. Cut-Off Time Drama

Order TypeCut-Off Time
Liquid Funds12:00 PM
Debt Funds3:00 PM
Equity Funds3:00 PM

If you place an order at 2:59 PM on Groww, it may show “today’s NAV”
