And don’t forget — this is the same company whose suspension was revoked by BSE in August 2024 after nearly 12 years.
Now tell me — is this a turnaround story or a governance thriller?
2. Introduction – From NYSE Pioneer to Suspension and Back
Silverline was once India’s pride — one of the first Indian IT companies listed on the NYSE. It was SEI CMM Level 4 appraised, an award-winning exporter, and ranked among the top Indian IT firms during its peak years.
Then came the dot-com collapse. Expansion missteps. Debt. Regulatory complications. Years of stagnation.
Fast forward to August 2024.
BSE revoked the company’s suspension after almost 12 years.
But here’s where things got uncomfortable.
The founder and chairman Ravi Subramanian passed away on 23 April 2024. The exchange was informed only on 27 August 2024 — more than four months later — via board meeting outcome filing.
The company was marked active but non-compliant, with filings pending including Form INC 22A.
The last complete financial filings before revival were for FY20.
Meanwhile, there were allegations of governance lapses, whistle-blower complaints, preferential issue proposals, and questions around director changes and compliance.
And yet — the stock has doubled in recent months.
So the question becomes:
Is the market ignoring governance history because numbers suddenly look better?
