Responsive Industries Ltd Q3 FY26: Revenue ₹311 Cr, PAT Down 51% YoY — OPM Slips to 15% but PVC King Still Talks ₹2,500 Cr Ambition

1. At a Glance – The Vinyl Emperor With a Temporary Limp

₹4,862 crore market cap. ₹182 stock price. P/E of 27. ROE of 16%. Debt-to-equity of just 0.14. Sounds decent, right?

But wait.

Q3 FY26 revenue came in at ₹311 crore, down 15% YoY. PAT fell 51% YoY to ₹22 crore. OPM cooled to 15% from the 20%+ glory days of FY24-FY25. Three-month return? -4.66%. One-year return? -13.4%.

This is Responsive Industries Ltd, India’s largest vinyl flooring manufacturer and one of the top five globally. The company that supplies to Vande Bharat trains, hospitals, railways, and exports to 70+ countries.

Last year margins exploded from 11% to 22%. This year? The party music got softer.

Is this a PVC giant taking a breather — or the beginning of a margin reality check?

Let’s peel the vinyl layers.

2. Introduction – The Flooring Company That Wants to Be Global Royalty

Founded in 1982, Responsive Industries Limited makes PVC-based products — mainly vinyl flooring, synthetic leather, ropes, and membranes.

Sounds boring? Wait till you see where it’s used.

Hospitals. Railways. Airports. Commercial spaces. Vande Bharat trains. International schools. Even Qatar University.

This isn’t some local plastic manufacturer. This is a company exporting to 70+ countries with 300 international distributors and 100+ domestic ones.

In FY24, they shocked everyone by doubling operating margins from 11% to 22%. Management credited premiumisation and Vande Bharat contracts.

Naturally, markets got excited.

Then FY26 Q3 arrived.

Revenue dipped. Profit halved. Margin slipped to 15%.

So what’s happening?

Temporary turbulence? Export headwinds? Pricing pressure? Or is PVC reminding us that it’s a commodity business wearing a premium blazer?

Let’s investigate.
