Torrent Pharma just dropped its Q3 FY26 numbers and the message is clear: margins are healthy, profits are compounding, and the company is playing global chess while others are still playing Ludo. Sales are up 17.6% YoY, profits up 27.6% YoY, and operating margins sitting comfortably at 33%.

But then comes the awkward dinner-table moment: the stock trades at 61.5 times earnings.

Sixty-one.

In an industry where the median P/E is around 27.9.

So the question is simple: are we paying for performance… or for perfection?
