1. At a Glance
Krystal Integrated Services Ltd (KISL) isn’t building rockets, but they are the guys cleaning the launchpads, guarding the gates, feeding the engineers, and then paying their salaries too. With 43,000+ employees spread across India, from hospitals to schools to airports, Krystal is basically India’s professional “all-rounder bai + watchman + HR + caterer” rolled into one NSE-listed entity. Market cap? ~₹935 Cr. Order book? 461 clients, many of them sticky for 10+ years. Stock price at ₹670—down 14% in a year, but hey, the company still made ₹60 Cr PAT last year.
2. Introduction
You know how Indian parents want their kids to do everything—engineer, IAS, singer, cricketer? Krystal took that literally and applied it to the services business. Started as a facility management company (housekeeping + cleaning), now they also provide security guards, staffing, payroll, catering, event management, pest control, water treatment, waste management—basically, if it’s messy, Krystal cleans it; if it’s boring, Krystal manages it; if it’s dangerous, Krystal guards it.
And their customer list is not some mohalla kirana store. Think HDFC Bank, D-Mart, Asian Paints, Bain & Co, hospitals, universities, and even municipal bodies. In fact, 36.5% of revenue comes from healthcare—where hospital floors must shine so much that even bacteria slips.
But here’s the irony: despite managing everyone’s payroll and operations, their own attrition rate is 28%. Yes, one out of four employees leaves every year. So while they promise stability to clients, internally they are running a talent merry-go-round.
3. Business Model (WTF Do They Even Do?)
Four main buckets:
- Integrated Facility Management (47% of FY25 revs)
- Soft services: Housekeeping, sanitation, pantry, gardening. Aka “glorified Swachh Bharat squad.”
- Hard services: MEP maintenance, façade cleaning, pest control, waste disposal. Aka “building ka mechanic + pest hunter.”
- Specialised: Airports, metros, events, warehouses—Krystal guards your terminal and serves chai at weddings.
- Staffing & Payroll (34%)
They hire, deploy, and pay manpower on behalf of clients. Basically a giant HR agency with 13,000+ workers deployed at banks, retailers, and factories.
- Private Security (11%)
With PSARA licences in 12 states, they provide guards, access control, patrols. Imagine a private CISF but in blue uniforms.
- Catering (6%)
Subsidiary Krystal Gourmet runs kitchens for corporates, hospitals, and institutions. They even serve Bombay Gymkhana members—so yes, elites are eating Krystal ke parathas.
- Water & Waste Mgmt (2%)
Latest venture: solid waste handling and CETP (common effluent treatment plant) contracts. New but growing.
So basically, they’re India’s “janitor + HR + Zomato + G4S + Swachh Bharat contractor” rolled
