1. Why This Stock?

Because liquor bottles don’t fill themselves. Haldyn Glass Ltd (HGL), incorporated in 1991, is the silent force behind your whisky shot, cough syrup vial, Amul bottle, and even nail polish jar. Promoted by Haldyn Corporation Ltd (53.6% holding), the company designs and manufactures soda lime flint and amber glass containers for industries spanning pharma, liquor, cosmetics, food & beverages.


2. Management Mic Drop (Concall Vibes)

Management loves talking about:

  • Premiumisation: Capex to shift towards premium glass (think fancy whisky and perfume bottles).
  • JV with Heinz Glass (Germany): Positioning HGL into the global luxury cosmetics packaging game.
  • Exports Push: USA, Africa, Nepal, Sri Lanka. Finally, Indian glass is going places other than Gujarat’s liquor shops.
  • Debt levels: Borrowings shot up from ₹47 Cr (FY23) to ₹123 Cr (FY24) to fund expansion, but management insists it’s “good debt.”

3. Business Model

HGL operates a B2B supply model. It’s basically a factory + design house that produces 1.5 million containers daily at Vadodara, Gujarat. Segments:

  • Pharma Vials: Clear glass vials for injectables & eye/ear drops.
  • Liquor Bottles: 60 ml party shots to 1L bottles for whisky, vodka, gin, brandy.
  • Cosmetics: Nail polish, perfume, toiletries.
  • Food & Beverages: Amul butter jars, oils, sauces.
